Why it works

Most voicemails are 10–60 seconds long. Listening to all of them in sequence is a 5–15 minute daily tax on every salesperson, manager and consultant. Reading the transcripts cuts that to seconds. The one-line summary cuts it further.

How accurate is the transcription?
Excellent for clear speech in standard accents (English variants, French, Spanish, German). Good for moderate background noise and Australian accents. Quality degrades on heavy industry jargon, mumbled audio, or speakerphone calls. We tune the engine per-customer and add custom-vocabulary lists for industry terms (medical, legal, technical).
What languages does it support?
50+ languages on OpenAI and Grok engines. The 3CX Transcription Engine ships with English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Greek, Japanese, Korean and Mandarin Chinese.
Where does the audio go?
Depends on your engine choice. OpenAI: audio is sent to OpenAI's API for transcription. Grok xAI: sent to xAI. 3CX Transcription Engine: stays in our Australian-hosted infrastructure. For sensitive content (health, finance, legal) we deploy the 3CX Transcription Engine in our Australian infrastructure.
How much does it cost?
Bundled into the PRO and AI Edition licence cost. OpenAI/Grok charge per minute of audio transcribed - typically $2–8 AUD per month for an SMB's voicemail volume, billed directly by the AI provider. 3CX Transcription Engine (managed in Australia) has only the GPU electricity cost.
Can I quote voicemail text in CRM?
Yes - transcripts can be auto-pushed into CRM contact records (HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, M365 contacts) so the next time you open that contact, the voicemail content is right there in their activity log.
Does it work for call recordings too?
Yes - AI Edition extends transcription to full call recordings, with speaker diarization (who said what). You can search every recorded conversation by content. PRO is voicemail-only.
