Migrate from RingCentral
Switching from RingCentral to 3CX
Migrating from RingCentral to 3CX in Australia - cut per-user fees, keep your numbers, deploy in days. Cost comparison, feature comparison, 5-step migration playbook.
Why customers leave RingCentral
Cost. RingCentral charges $30–55 per user per month - for a 50-person business that’s AUD $18,000–33,000+ per year for the phone licence alone. We also charge per user (we deliver as a managed monthly service), but the underlying 3CX licence is system-priced and we bundle wholesale Australian calling, hosting and support into the rate - so our per-user number is dramatically lower than RingCentral’s.
Support. RingCentral support routes overseas. Australian businesses needing changes during Australian business hours get long queues and time-zone mismatches.
AI features cost extra. RingCentral’s AI features (AI Insights, etc) are add-ons billed on top of the base licence. 3CX includes AI voicemail in PRO and the full AI suite (Receptionist, PA, sentiment) in AI Edition at one price.
Add-on creep. Reporting add-ons, integration add-ons, recording add-ons, AI add-ons - RingCentral’s quote grows quarter on quarter. 3CX’s licence cost is fixed annual.

5-step migration playbook
-
Discovery + scope (Day 0)
20-minute call. We confirm user count, current RingCentral plan, number list, must-have features. We quote your fixed monthly bundle and migration timeline.
-
System build (Day 1–3)
We provision your 3CX tenant, configure queues/IVR matching your current RingCentral structure, set up CRM integration, provision mobile/web apps for staff.
-
Number port submission (Day 1–2, runs in background)
We submit local-number portability (LNP) request to your current carrier. RingCentral typically releases numbers in 10–15 business days. We keep RingCentral running through this period.
-
Parallel run + training (Day 4–10)
Staff get the 3CX mobile/web app installed alongside RingCentral. Outbound starts flowing through 3CX; inbound still hits RingCentral until port completes. Training delivered in-person or via video.
-
Cutover (Day 10–15)
Port completes. Inbound calls flow to 3CX. RingCentral cancelled. We monitor for 7 days post-cutover and resolve any teething issues immediately.
