Common questions

Can 3CX do campus-wide paging?
Yes - paging is a standard 3CX feature. Any extension can initiate a paging announcement to selected speakers (zoned by building, year level, or whole-of-campus). Works with IP speakers and IP-paging-capable handsets.
Parent SMS notifications?
Yes - 3CX SMS handles two-way parent communication from the school's main number. Templates for absence-notification, urgent-pickup, after-school updates. Integrates with student-management systems for personalised messages.
Multi-campus?
Standard. One 3CX system handles multiple campuses. Each campus has its own number; calls route by campus selection or by student family record. Receptionist at one campus can pick up overflow from another.
Where is student data stored?
Hosted 3CX runs in Australian data centres. For schools needing additional compliance (state DET requirements), we can deploy in a nominated Australian cloud region for additional compliance.
Can teachers use 3CX on excursions?
Yes - mobile app on every teacher's phone. Excursion coordinator extension rings on their mobile; can transfer to other teachers; can broadcast announcements via SMS to parents.
